The top 5 Things To Do Before the baby Arrives
Mama are you Ready?
Recently a mama to be messaged me, what are 5 things I can do before the baby arrives? I had to think, what would have helped me the most as a new mama? How could she add a few little extras that would help her? I think a lot of times we get lost in preparing for the baby we forget to plan for ourselves. Mama, you’re the most important piece of the puzzle. Let’s make sure we take care of you as well.
5 Things to Do Before the Baby Arrives
- Create a few padscicles if you have time. Mama these will be a lifesaver in those early days. If you end up with a caesarean you can still place the pad on the incision.
- Gather your postpartum supplies for bathroom baskets, so everything is in one spot and on the counter! Now is not the time to be modest. Plus who wants to dig around under the counter after giving birth! No. Have everything you need out on the counter.
- Stock your bedside table with essentials like water bottles, snacks, and any necessary medications. Also a lifesaver for me, EYEMASK.
- Place a grocery order or meal plan order for the week after birth so you don’t have to think about think about food. I hated thinking about food in those early days and was grateful for freezer meals, delivery and ordering online.
- Get someone to put clean sheets on your bed. Nothing feels better than fresh sheets. After you come home from the hospital you’ll want ALL the comfort.
Did I miss anything? Did you notice all of these are to take care of YOU, mama. I think a lot of times in the postpartum plan focuses on the baby and your body but not caring for you and making things as easy as possible. Let’s change that!
